Biographical Information[edit]
Eduardo Thomas was the starting third baseman for the Panamanian national team that won the 2013 Bolivarian Games. He hit .263/.348/.316 with six RBI in seven games, handling 20 chances without an error. In the 2016 World Baseball Classic Qualifiers, he was 1 for 8 with a two-run single off Owen Ozanich of France, scoring Carlos Quiroz and Javy Guerra. He hit .391/.400/.435 in the 2017 Bolivarian Games; Panama got the Silver Medal. He had five RBI in five games to tie Jhadiel Santamaria for second on the team, one behind Jonathan Saavedra. He had 3 hits against El Salvador and drove in two of their runs in a 3-0 win over Venezuela for a spot in the Gold Medal game, but was 0 for 4 in the finale against host Colombia. His 9 hits still tied Saavedra for the tournament lead, one ahead of Edgar Muñoz. He had more hits than the entire Peruvian national team (7).
In the round-robin phase of the 2017 Central American Games, he hit .381/.381/.458 with five runs in five games, then was 1 for 4 in the 3-1 Gold Medal game loss to Nicaragua.
He is the son of Eduardo Thomas Sr.
