Biographical Information[edit]

Edinson Rincon played in the minor leagues from 2007-2014 with the San Diego Padres (2007-2012) and Kansas City Royals (2013-2014) organizations. In 2009, he was rated the #2 prospect in the Pioneer League, right behind Hak-ju Lee and right ahead of Brett Jackson. He was primarily a third baseman though he also played some outfield. In eight minor league seasons Rincon hit .280/.349/.406 while appearing in 577 games. He finished his playing career in 2015 with the Washington Wild Things of the independent Frontier League.

Rincon returned to the Padres in 2016 as a coach for the DSL Padres and stayed with the team through 2019. He was scheduled to return in 2020 before the minor league season was cancelled due to the coronavirus pandemic. There is no record that Rincon coached in 2021. Rincon moved stateside as a bench coach for the ACL Padres in 2022-2023, then returned to the D.R. as hitting coach of the DSL Padres Brown in 2024.
