Biographical Information[edit]

Edgar Figueroa has played in the minors and for the Dominican national team.

Figueroa was signed by Pittsburgh Pirates scouts Rene Gayo and Juan Mercado in 2012. [1] He hit .270/.342/.392 for the 2013 DSL Pirates 2 with 8 triples, 38 runs and 42 RBI in 61 games. He was 4th in the Bucs chain in triples and tied Roberto Caro and Domingo Leyba for 4th in the Dominican Summer League in that department. He came stateside with the '14 Bristol Pirates and slipped to .234/.279/.297 with two triples but fielded .991 in center with 7 assists to one error. Back with Bristol in 2015, he batted .262/.361/.417.

He started in center for the Dominicans in the 2018 Central American and Caribbean Games, hitting .250/.286/.450 while fielding .867 with one assist in seven games. [2] In the 2019 Pan American Games Qualifier, he was 1 for 4 as a bench player for the champs; the Dominicans won a spot in the 2019 Pan American Games. [3]
