Biographical Information[edit]
Catcher Eddie Taubensee, aslo known as Ed, earned the nickname "The Model" because of the way he strutted his stuff on the runway when the Houston Astros revealed their new uniforms in 1994. His major league career lasted from 1991 to 2001, with his first and last seasons coming with the Cleveland Indians. The rest was with the Astros from 1992 to 1994, and the Cincinnati Reds from 1994 to 2000. In all, he appeared in 975 games, hitting .273.
Taubensee became a coach with the Augusta GreenJackets in 2017.
