Ed Mathey is a college coach.
Mathey pitched for North Central College then was a recommending scout for the Cincinnati Reds. He was pitching coach for North Central College from 1989-1993. He was head coach at North Central from 1994-2002, going 205-171-2 and twice being named Coach of the Year for the College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin.
Ed became head coach at Northern Illinois University in 2003. He set a school record with 34 wins in 2003 and tied that mark in 2007. He was 167-169-1 at NIU through 2008. Mathey left NIU after the 2014 as the winningest coach in school history with 294 wins. He returned to North Central for the 2015 season.
