Biographical Information[edit]
Ed Mathes scouted for the Cincinnati Reds. He won the A.B. "Turk" Karam Award in 2004. He was also an assistant coach at St. John's University and Fordham University and head coach for the Long Island Nationals of the Atlantic Collegiate Baseball League.
He was a middle infielder who played in the Pittsburgh Pirates system in 1954 and 1955 and the San Francisco Giants system in 1958. He batted .208 in 472 at-bats.
