Biographical Information[edit]
Ed Kinsella pitched three games with the Pittsburgh Pirates in 1905 and ten games with the St. Louis Browns in 1910. He hurled a total of 67 innings in the big leagues.
Ed was born in Lexington, IL, went to Illinois State University in 1902-1903, then pitched in the minors between 1904 and 1914. Although records are not complete, he won 20+ games in 1907, 1908, 1909 and 1912. The first three times were with the Portland team, known first as the Portland Beavers and then the Portland Colts. The last time was with the Denver Grizzlies, with whom he spent two years.
He is apparently not related to W.P. Kinsella, the author whose novel was turned into the movie Field of Dreams.
