Biographical Information[edit]
Ed Donnelly had his only career win on August 13, 1959. It was in a wild 20-9 win for the Chicago Cubs over the San Francisco Giants. He came in in the top of the 4th with the Cubs trailing, 7-6. He walked Jackie Brandt, got Jim Davenport to hit into a double play, gave up a triple to Willie Mays then struck out Orlando Cepeda. The Cubs came back to score 4 in the bottom of the 4th and Donnelly got the win. Don Elston pitched the last 5 innings giving up just 2 runs to get the save.
He is the grandfather of Jarred Cosart.
