The only professional baseball team ever based out of East Grand Forks, MN, the East Grand Forks Colts played in 1933 in the Northern League. Their main rival was the Crookston Pirates. They were 24-23 in the first half, third in the 7-team league, but fell to sixth in the second half with a 26-32 mark. Overall, they were outscored 626-565. Outfielder-manager Johnny Anderson hit .403/?/.678 and led the Northern League in average; he was third in doubles (31) and home runs (15). The "consensus" All-Star team picked by the Spalding Guide had one Colt - CF Ray Helixon (.274/?/.402). The team did not return the next year.
