Biographical Information[edit]

Third baseman Dwayne Peltier played in the Pittsburgh Pirates minor league system from 1973 to 1976. He was taken in the first round, 23rd overall, of the 1972 amateur draft.

Though he showed some pop - he hit 11 and 14 home runs for the Salem Pirates in 1974 and 1975, respectively - and speed - he stole 11 bases in 1975 - Peltier was a low-average hitter who never advanced past Double-A. He hit .240 in 389 games over four seasons.
