Biographical Information[edit]
Charles "Dutch" Schesler had only one season in the big leagues but pitched for 19 years in the minors, mostly for teams based on Pennsylvania.
Dutch was born in Germany and pitched for many years in the minors before getting his chance at the majors at age 30 (nearly 31).
Many years later it was announced that Schesler at age 43 would pitch for the York White Roses in 1943, along with 57-year-old Lefty George. Both pitched, with Schesler posting a 2.89 ERA in 15 games. One of the sources: SABR article [1].
