Biographical Information[edit]
Pitcher Dutch Neuman spent five years in the minor leagues, playing from 1946 to 1950.
While in the Cleveland Indians system in 1948 and 1949, he won a total of 35 games, going 18-5 with a 3.20 ERA for the Union City Greyhounds the former year (leading the KITTY League in victories) and 17-10 with a 3.80 mark the latter campaign for the Spartanburg Peaches. Overall, he went 49-37 with a 4.02 ERA.
He was also very good at the plate, often being used as a pinch hitter. He batted .224 in 1947, .370 in 119 at-bats in 1948, .264 in 1949 and .292 in 1950.
He served with the U.S. Army Air Corp in World War II.
