Biographical Information[edit]
Dutch Deutsch scouted for the Chicago White Sox (1954-1967), Pittsburgh Pirates (1967-1974) and San Francisco Giants (1976-?). He signed, among others, John Candelaria, Mike DeGerick and Willie Randolph. He won the Turk Karam Award in 1983.
An outfielder, he played in the minor leagues in 1937 and 1938, hitting .173 in 52 at-bats for the Dayton Ducks in 1937.
He served in the United States Navy during World War II, from 1942 to 1946.
