Biographical Information[edit]
Duncan MacDonald was the General Manager of the Ottawa Fat Cats in the Intercounty Baseball League. In the past, he was a pro scout and College World Series player.
Duncan started playing ball in his youth with a local Brockville, ON team, and later moved to a team in Waterloo, ON. He had numerous pro try-outs and was eventually given a scholarship to Ithaca College, where he appeared in the NCAA Div. III College World Series in 1985 and 1986.
He attended the Canadian National Team try-outs for the 1984 Olympics, and also attended Canadian National Team camps in 1985 & 1986. After school, he founded a ball club in Ottawa and helped develop many collegiate and professional players. He served as one of eight regional scouts for the Toronto Blue Jays from 1990-2002, concentrating on eastern Ontario and western Quebec.
He was awarded the Intercounty League's Executive of the Year Award in 2010 for his work with the League's Ottawa team. He is a member of the Ottawa Stadium group that brought the IBL to Ottawa in 2010.
