Biographical Information[edit]

Pitcher Drew Bigda was selected by the Tampa Bay Devil Rays in the 39th round of the 2004 amateur draft and played three seasons in their organization.

Bigda split 2004 between the Princeton Devil Rays (1-1, 3.43 in 18 G) and the Hudson Valley Renegades (2 scoreless innings). In 2005, he was 0-4 with two saves and a 5.13 ERA in 24 games for the Renegades, fanning 42 in 33 1/3 IP and walking 22.

In 2006, Drew went 1-4 with a save and a 5.30 ERA in 40 outings for the Southwest Michigan Devil Rays, walking 55 in 56 innings while striking out 55. He had Tommy John surgery and missed 2007.

He played for the Midwest Sliders traveling team in the independent Frontier League in 2008, walking 22 and allowing 16 runs in 17 1/3 innings.
