Biographical Information[edit]
Doug Danforth, a catcher in college, was owner of the Pittsburgh Pirates. He was Westinghouse Electric CEO from 1983-1987, having risen the managerial ranks there. He led the group that purchased the Pirates in 1985 and was their board chair from 1987-1992 and helped keep the team in Pittsburgh. He led the committee that helped with the National League Expansion of 1993.
