Doug Coe played independent ball briefly.
Coe hit .438/.542/.810 as a high school senior, leading the Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference in average, OBP, slugging, RBI (59) and total bases (124) and finishing second with 15 homers. He was named the All-American NCAA Division III catcher by the American Baseball Coaches Association. He became the second ABCA first-team All-American in his school's history, following Paul Molitor
Signing with the Windy City Thunderbolts, Doug hit .227/.402/.394 in 24 games in 2008 and .171/.271/.244 in 15 games in 2009.
