Biographical Information[edit]

Doug Bair pitched fifteen seasons in the big leagues with seven teams, making 584 appearances and just 5 starts on the bump. He earned World Series rings with both the 1982 St. Louis Cardinals and the 1984 Detroit Tigers. His finest season may have come in the last days of the Big Red Machine, when he pitched to a 7-6 mark with a 1.97 ERA in 56 games (100 1/3 innings) for the Cincinnati Reds in 1978, recording a career best 28 saves.

Following his playing days, he dabbled in coaching on a collegiate and high school level before joining the Reds organization in 2006. He was named pitching coach of the Dayton Dragons for 2007, sticking around for two seasons.
