Biographical Information[edit]

Doo-hwan Lee played in the Korea Baseball Organization for 6 years.

Lee represented South Korea in the 2006 World Junior Championship, and he was drafted by the Doosan Bears in the second round of the 2007 KBO draft. He hit .293/.359/.493 with 12 homers in the minors in 2008, and his batting line was .258/.327/.414 there in 2009. Lee improved to .362/.394/.646 with 21 homers in 2010, and he led the minors in homers and batting average. He also played 13 games with the big club, and he had a .320/.367/.480 batting line. He then represented South Korea in the 2010 Intercontinental Cup, hitting .174/.269/.174 and handling 55 chances error-free as their main first baseman. He was 6th in the Cup in putouts (50, between Kuo-Ching Kao and Ariel Pestano) and led with 3 times hit-by-pitch. Lee missed the entire 2011 season due to the cellulitis, and the KIA Tigers selected him in the second draft. However, he never played a game for the Tigers because he was diagnosed with osteosarcoma, and he passed away in 2012.
