Don Smallwood
Don Smallwood had a long presence in British baseball. He began playing baseball at the adult level as the left fielder for the Hull Aces in the 1950s. He would help his team to four titles from 1963-1972, possibly the first British player to four championships. He was named the best fielder in 1965. He later was a fundraiser for baseball and president of the British Baseball Federation. He stepped down from baseball in the early 1990s due to accusations of mismanaging funds, a claim he denied and was never found guilty of. He was inducted into the British Baseball Hall of Fame in 2017 in a class with Nick Carter and Ian Young.
