Biographical Information[edit]
Dan Sikes played in the minors from 1920 to 1930 and in 1935. He hit over .300 multiple times. He hit .306 in 1921, .303 in 1924 and .311 in 1925. 1928 was an excellent campaign, as he slashed .310/.335/.517 with 18 home runs, 31 doubles and 10 triples in 131 games for the Springfield Buckeyes. He hit .311 in 1929 and .323 (in 99 at-bats) in his return campaign in 1935.
He managed the Wilkes-Barre Barons for part of the 1929 season, replacing Mike Konnick and being replaced by Punch Knoll.
He had previously been listed as Don Sykes and Dan Sikes.
