Biographical Information[edit]
Don Prince pitched in one career major league game. It was on September 21, 1962 for the Chicago Cubs against the New York Mets. He gave up a walk to Joe Christopher, hit Frank Thomas with a pitch, got Jim Hickman to hit into a double play, then got Sammy Drake to ground out.
For most of 1962 he played for the Salt Lake City Bees, as a teammate of Sam McDowell, Max Alvis and Walt Bond.
After his retirement, he was a teacher and high school basketball coach at Hoke High School in Raeford, NC, then went into the insurance business. He retired in Myrtle Beach, SC where he died in 2017.
