Don Deeble
Don Deeble was a first baseman for Victoria from 1954-1969. He played for Australia's national team (in the days before Australia played in major tournaments) in 1964, 1957, 1964-1965, 1967 and 1969. In 1969, he appeared in the Tri Nations Goodwill Baseball Series in the Philippines. Deeble's son Jon Deeble was a noted scout, minor league manager and Australian national team manager. Don Deeble was in the first class of the Baseball Australia Hall of Fame, inducted in 2005; his son Jon joined him the next year. Another son, Michael Deeble, played for the national team.
