Biographical Information[edit]

Donald Colpoys had a long career in professional baseball. He played in the St. Louis Cardinals system from 1954 to 1956, all at Class D, hitting .239 with 10 home runs in 140 games. He then joined the Philadelphia Phillies organization, working as a scout. He joined Canisius College as its head coach in 1977, leading them through 1979 and from 1981 to 2001 and winning a school record 325 games. In 1978, he managed the Niagara Falls Pirates, being replaced by Duke McGuire partway through the season. From 1979 to 1984, he was general manager of the Buffalo Bisons.
