Biographical Information[edit]
Theodore "Doc" Sechrist pitched to two batters for the New York Giants in his only major league game in 1899, and walked both of them.
"New York tried three pitchers, and with the exception of Coakley (sic - probably Tom Colcolough), who finished the game, they were wild and ineffective . . ." - Sporting Life, May 6, 1899 issue
However, Sechrist also pitched six seasons in the minors. Although his outing with the Giants was not successful, for the rest of 1899 he pitched for three minor league clubs and had 18 victories.
