Biographical Information[edit]

Dmitri Breskin was on the Ukrainian national team in their first European Championship, the 1995 European Championship; he and Gennadi Mahno were the only southpaws on the pitching staff. He started against Spain and 1992 Olympian José Becerra; he went five innings and allowed five hits, two walks and four runs (two earned) while fanning four before Mahno relieved with a 4-2 deficit. While he took the loss in his only appearance, he easily led Ukraine in ERA (3.60; Alexandre Baikov was next at 7.71, while the team ERA was 10.26).
