Dizzy Peyton was 3-3 with a 4.44 ERA in his one season as a college pitcher before Tommy John surgery ended his career. He then spent 17 years as assistant coach at Northern Kentucky, moving up to head coach for the 2022 season; the team had only had two coaches in their first 50 years, Bill Aker and Todd Asalon.
