Biographical Information[edit]

Diosdany Castillo has pitched for Villa Clara in the Cuban Serie Nacional. He debuted in 2006-2007, going 0-1 with a 6.23 ERA and .375 opponent average. He did not appear the next season then had a 2-1, 4.09 record in 14 outings in 2008-2009. He went 2-0 with two saves and a 5.83 ERA for Villa Clara in 2009-2010. In 2010-2011, the righty improved to 7-3 with four saves and a 3.48 ERA. In 2011-2012, he went 6-4 with two saves and a 4.14 ERA.

Castillo was a late addition to the Cuban national team for the 2013 World Baseball Classic. He made his debut against Japan in round one; he relieved Yander Guevara with a 2-0 lead, one on and one out in the 6th. After allowing a single to Sho Nakata, he was yanked in favor of Norberto González.
