Biographical Information

Diego Ruiz pitched part of two years in the minors. He was 3-4 with a 3.09 ERA for the 1992 AZL Cardinals. He allowed 71 hits in 64 innings, but walked only 11. He pitched one game for the 1993 Springfield Cardinals, allowing one run and two hits in six while picking up the win. On May 22nd, he was killed when a car teammate Eddie Williams was driving hit a steel pole and crashed into a liquor store. No charges were filed though the police said alcohol was involved.
