Biographical Information[edit]

Ohio native Dick Kimble spent eleven seasons in professional baseball from 1939 to 1949. The infielder spent part of one season in the Major Leagues with the Washington Senators from August 20, to September 18, 1945. He appeared in twenty games and hit .245 in 49 at-bats.

Kimble spent the balance of his career in the minor leagues appearing in six different leagues with nine different teams. He had two seasons that he hit over the .300 mark. The first was in 1940 with the Mayfield Browns of the class D Kitty League when he hit .325 in 126 games. The second came in 1948 with three different clubs, the Minneapolis Millers and Louisville Colonels of the American Association and the International League Jersey City Giants. Dick hit .314 in 110 games.

Kimble finished up his pro baseball career in 1949 with a .269 batting average in 1,387 games.

After baseball, Kimble returned to his native Ohio, where he worked and lived until his death at the age of 85 in Toledo, OH.
