Biographical Information[edit]
Catcher Dick Hendley played in the Tri-State League from 1951 to 1954. He earned the most playing time in 1953, when he hit .259 with six home runs and 74 hits in 92 games for the Anderson Rebels. He also played or the Rebels in 1951; in the other two years, he played for the Greenville Spinners. All told, he hit .258 with 184 hits in 217 games.
He was a star football player at Clemson and played for the National Football League's Pittsburgh Steelers in 1951.
