Biographical Information[edit]
Dick "Shadow" Carroll went 26-9 for the Akron team in 1909 and came up for two games with the New York Highlanders. In 5 innings, his ERA was 3.60.
In the days of the Federal League, he was business manager for the Buffalo Buffeds, and was once scheduled to pitch for Hal Chase's All-Stars after the regular season, but he was never sent to the mound.
