Biographical Information[edit]
Dick Bertell caught at the major league level for seven years in the 1960s, mostly with the Chicago Cubs. His most notable season was 1962, when he hit .302 on a team that hit .253. His average the next year dropped to .233, but the team's average dropped also to .238 as the second deadball era was starting.
