Biographical Information

Dick Barrett, who appeared in the majors in 1933 and 1934 and again from 1943 to 1945, is more famous for his many years in the Pacific Coast League. His minor league career stretched from 1925 to 1953, with more than 300 victories and a record 2,096 walks allowed. He won 20+ games eight times in the minors and is a member of the Pacific Coast League Hall of Fame.

Barrett was at the University of Illinois at the same time as Wally Roettger. The two would both be in the National League in 1934. Roettger died in 1951 while Barrett was managing the Victoria Athletics and still playing.
