Biographical Information

Pitcher Deshorn Lake was born in St. Thomas but attended high school in Virginia, where he was a teammate of Jharel Cotton. The Boston Red Sox chose Lake in the 12th round of the 2011 draft, but Lake chose instead to go to college. He had a disappointing year at East Carolina (0-1, 7.56 in nine games, with two starts).

Undrafted out of college, Lake signed with the New York Yankees in 2014. He made his pro debut that year with the GCL Yankees, going 3-3 with a 6.26 ERA in 15 games.
