Biographical Information[edit]

Derron Davis played college ball at McCook Community College, Winthrop University, and Colorado State University-Pueblo. He graduated in 2018 with a degree in Psychology and later earned a master's degree in Organizational Psychology from Grand Canyon University. In the summer of 2018 he played professionally for the Trebic Nuclears in the Czech Republic (hitting .292/.313/.405) while also serving as an assistant coach for the team. Davis joined the Northeast Community College Hawks as an assistant coach for the 2020 season. He returned to Winthrop in the fall of 2020 as a volunteer assistant coach.

Davis moved into professional baseball coaching in 2021 as a bench coach for the independent Ogden Raptors. The following year he worked in the Los Angeles Angels organization as a Game Planning Strategist with the Inland Empire 66ers. Davis moved to the Chicago Cubs organization in 2023 as a development coach for the Myrtle Beach Pelicans. In 2024 he was the bench coach for the Tennessee Smokies.
