Biographical Information[edit]
Designated Hitter and Outfielder Derrick Pyles was a longtime Independent Leagues player from 2006-2020.
On May 16, 2019 the San Rafael Pacifics announced that Pyles' would be the team's player-manager for the 2019 Pacific Association season. Just nine games into the season, with a 7-2 record, the Suarez ownership group released Pyles of his duties. Oscar Suarez was named manager the following week.
