Derrick Fox spent most of 2012 as a middle infielder for the Alpine Cowboys, hitting .287/.380/.416 with 23 steals in 31 tries and 75 runs in 70 games, good numbers even for the high-scoring Pecos League. He then moved to the Normal CornBelters in mid-August.
