Biographical Information[edit]
Deron Spink has been a college coach.
In 1994, Spink set the NCAA Division II record by getting hit by pitch 34 times. Spink became head coach of Bellarmine University in 2005 and was named Great Lakes Valley Conference Coach of the Year in 2008. In 2009, he was selected by Ryan Howard to pitch to Howard in the Home Run Derby. Spink resigned after the 2011 season at Bellarmine "due to family interests and to pursue other professional opportunities."
