Biographical Information[edit]
Denny Sothern got most of his major league at-bats in the lively ball era with a team that played in a lively park, the Philadelphia Phillies. For much of the year 1930, he was the centerfielder on a team that featured Chuck Klein and Lefty O'Doul as the other two outfielders.
He is mentioned in the book "Occasional Glory: The History of the Philadelphia Phillies".
He managed the Kinston Eagles, an independent franchise in the Coastal Plain League for part of 1940.
