Biographical Information[edit]
Third baseman Deibinson Romero began his professional career in 2006 after being signed as a non-drafted free agent by Minnesota Twins scout Fred Guerrero on July 21, 2004. He reached Triple-A for the first time in 2013.
After getting off to a hot start professionally - he hit .313 in 176 at-bats for the GCL Twins in 2006 and slashed .315/.405/.502 in 68 games spent mostly with the Elizabethton Twins in 2007 - he soon found struggles and posted a batting average no higher than .275 in any subsequent season through 2014. Nevertheless, he earned Eastern League Post-Season All-Star honors in 2012 after hitting .267/.356/.441 with 19 home runs and 78 RBI in 138 games for the New Britain Rock Cats.
He was also a Post-Season All-Star in 2006 and 2007.
