Biographical Information

Dean Olsson has pitched for the Swedish national team.

He had a 3.86 ERA in 13 games for California Lutheran in 2023, as a redshirt sophomore. He pitched once for Sweden in the 2023 European Championship, closing out a 18-3 loss to champion Spain. He relieved Linus Ritzen in the bottom of the 4th with a 9-2 deficit, one out and the bases loaded. Edgar Rondón greeted him with a grand slam, Engel Beltre doubled and Omar Hernández also went yard. Another run also scored before he ended the inning by retiring Cubs farmhand Frank Hernández on a strikeout. He gave up 8 hits and 6 runs in 1 1/3 IP before the mercy rule ending. He had Sweden's highest ERA at 40.50; Ritzen was next at 36.00
