Biographical Information[edit]
David Pierce has been a college coach.
Pierce was a head coach at Dobie High School (1996-2001, working with Shane Nance), St. Pius X High School (1989-1990) and assistant at Episcopal High School (1992-1995). From 1994-2000, he also was batting practice pitcher for the Houston Astros. In 2001-2002, he was a coach at the University of Houston, his alma mater. He was pitching coach at Rice University from 2003-2011, then became head coach of Sam Houston State University for 2012. Pierce moved to Tulane University in 2015-2016 then replaced the legendary Augie Garrido at the University of Texas in 2017.
