Biographical Information

Pitcher David Martinez reached the majors in 2013.

Signed by the Houston Astros as a 17-year-old in 2005, Martinez played four years for the VSL Astros in the Venezuelan Summer League before coming to the U.S. with the Greeneville Astros in 2009. He was called up the majors in late August 2013 and made his big league debut on August 21st, throwing 2 2/3 innings of scoreless relief against the Texas Rangers. In his second game on August 26th however, he gave up 3 runs on 5 hits in 2 2/3 innings and was sent back to the minors.
