Biographical Information

David Hernandez was signed by the Baltimore Orioles and scout James Keller as a 16th round pick in the 2005 amateur draft.

Hernandez pitched for Team USA in the 2013 World Baseball Classic. He had originally signed up for the Mexican national team, but when it was ruled that he was not eligible to play for the country of his ancestors a few days before the tournament started, he accepted an offer to play for the United States instead, a spot having opened in the U.S.'s bullpen because of an injury.

Hernandez' brother Ray has played and coached in the minors.
