Biographical Information[edit]

David Hataway pitched two seasons in the minor leagues, 1948 and 1950. In 1948, he was 3-8 with a 5.50 ERA in 16 games for the Geneva Red Birds; he also played for the Montgomery Rebels that year. In 1950, he was 23-16, 3.02 in 45 games (271 innings) for the Andalusia Arrows. He led the Alabama State League in victories, 3 more than runner-up Billie Pouncey. Overall, he was 26-24 with a 3.64 ERA in 61 games, per records available. In 361 innings, he allowed 321 hits and 216 walks.

He served in the U.S. Navy during World War II.
