David Füßer has played in the Baseball-Bundesliga. In 2005, he debuted with the Heidenheim Heideköpfe at age 17. He went 5 for 25 with two doubles, five walks and eight strikeouts. In '06, he was 11 for 37 with two doubles and four walks as a backup outfielder. David hit .292/.364/.313 in regular action in 2007, starting in right field. He did strike out 28 times in 96 at-bats, second in the Bundesliga-South in Ks. During 2008, Füßer batted .278/.366/.330 with 10 steals in 13 tries and 21 runs in 28 games. He played error-free defense while starting in center for Heidenheim. He tied for 7th in the league in steals.

In 2009, the 21-year-old slumped to .207/.290/.268 while moving to left to make room for American Ray Stokes in center. He again made no errors. He excelled in the postseason, going 13 for 37 with 10 runs and 7 steals (not caught) in 11 games as Heidenheim won its first title. Füßer struggled in the regular season again in 2010 at .213/.309/.275, but with 19 runs in 28 games and 7 steals in 8 attempts. He was 6 for 23 with a double and a walk in the postseason; Heidenheim reached the finals but fell to Regensburg. In the 2010 European Cup, David was 9 for 24 with two doubles and a walk as Heidenheim won the Silver Medal, the best finish ever by a German entry. In the Gold Medal game, he got a bunt hit off Cody Cillo for one of just three Heidenheim safeties in a loss to Fortitudo Bologna.

In the 2011 European Cup, Füßer was 4 for 20 with a walk and an outfield assist. In a crucial upset loss to the Hoboken Pioneers, he came up in the bottom of the 9th with two outs, the bases loaded and a 8-7 deficit. Facing Terrence Antonacci, he popped up to end the game.
