Biographical Information[edit]

David Cortés pitched in four big league seasons, recording a 5-1, 4.47 record and 2 saves in 84 games spent largely laboring out of the Colorado Rockies bullpen in 2005 and 2006. The brother of Humberto Cardenas, David allowed no runs in 3 2/3 innings in four games in the 2008 Final Olympic Qualification Tournament. He struggled in the 2009 WBC, allowing 5 hits, 2 walks and 5 runs in one inning of work, including a Chris Snelling homer. In all three of his outings, he was replaced by Dennys Reyes.
