Biographical Information[edit]
Starting pitcher David Charles played in the Pittsburgh Pirates minor league system in 1950 and 1951. In 1950, he was 1-2 with a 5.86 ERA in 15 games for the Albany Senators and in 1951, he was 10-14 with a 3.34 ERA in 35 games for the Burlington Bees. He tossed a 7-inning no-hitter on May 18, 1951 against the Greensboro Patriots.
Overall, he was 11-16 with a 3.91 ERA in 50 games.
He served in the U.S. Army during World War II.
