Biographical Information[edit]
David Chadd was an assistant baseball coach at Wichita State University (1990-1991) and Kansas State University (1992-1993). He had been an outfielder at KSU in 1988.
Chadd spent eight years in the scouting department of the Florida Marlins, where he was an area scout from 1994 to 1997, then promoted to cross-checker in 1998. He was the Marlins' scouting director when he left the club in 2001.
Chadd was the scouting director for the Boston Red Sox from 2002 to 2004, and held the same post with the Detroit Tigers from 2005 to 2010. In 2011-2013 he was promoted to Vice President, Amateur Scouting/Special Assistant to the General Manager.
